Do you have a Digital Light Processing TV, otherwise known as a DLP TV that is a front or rear projection model?

Two things that you will need to do for maintenance with these types of TV’s are keeping the dust off the screen and replacing the lamps, otherwise known as bulbs. Most lamps will last at least 2000 hours, but some lamps have lasted a lot longer. As with computers and electronics, not all parts will last forever. There are some bulbs that might only last for 500 hours, but that is a rare occasion when lamps stops working that soon. A Mitsubishi replacement lamp is known to last more than 2000 hours.

In 1987, digital light processing was thought of and put into motion. Texas Instruments was the creator. They named it digital light processing because the lighting was generated in a digital form. A computer part called an optical semiconductor helps the digital lighting. The optical semiconductor is also known as a DMD chip. This chip contains well over a million mirrors. As of 2010, there are approximately 50 manufacturers in the US that manufacture the projections models of TV’s called DLP’s. Some DLP TV’s are called one-chip DLP systems and some are called three-chip DLP systems. The Mitsubishi replacement lamp is usually for the three-chip model, as this model uses a projection lamp to generate the white light that goes through a prism and then generates the other colors in the lighting, like green, red and blue. The DMD chips process all these lights to make all the colors blend. Then, the bright and clear picture, with all the colors, is projected onto the screen.

Is the picture on the screen faint? Is the picture bright or darker? These two signs usually mean that it is time to change the bulb in your projection model television. When it comes to electronics and computers, it is a good idea to be sure about what you are doing when you replace a bulb or any other part. Ultimately, if you are uncertain about how to do this, it is a good idea to ask a computer technician to do it for you.

Changing the Lamp

For the computer savvy individual, changing this lamp will not be a task at all, but for those who are not computer savvy, here are some general tips about replacing your Mitsubishi lamp. First, you will make sure that the power has been disconnected from the TV for at least a full minute. Power can still circulate into electronics for a full minute after they are unplugged. Most TV’s that need a Mitsubishi replacement lamp are easily changed over. There are usually some screws to loosen and remove. Then, the bulb generally twists out easily and the new bulb is placed into the TV. Some television sets are not as easy to repair or maintain, so they may have to be serviced by a special technician, but with modern technology, that is rarely the case today.

As far as the screen goes on your projection television, keeping it clean is very easy. All you need is a micro-fiber cloth. It is not recommended to use regular window cleaner or any other type of cleaning agent on this type of screen. Once you have replaced the lamp in your TV, the picture will be just the same, if not better than when you originally purchased the set. There is nothing more annoying than a dim picture, especially when it flickers.

The DLP is a new type of technology that offers better advantages in projectors. The first thing and one of the most important things is that it is filter-free. No longer do you need a filter to keep the dust out. The DLP eliminates this problem that happens in auditoriums and gyms and places that are hard to get to for cleaning, causing poor performance in projection. Having a projector that does not need to be cleaned saves on labor costs for servicing and cleaning the projector, liability for anyone who is climbing in a high place with a risk of falling, and extending the life of the projector since less parts are needed to maintain the device.

With LCD projectors the costs to use this are higher. Not only do you have to clean them every 100 hours, but you have to replace a filter for each time lamp replacement is necessary. The new technology offers a total dollars savings that can be significant over the lifespan of the device.

Another option to consider is a lamp-free model which incorporates solid state illumination. The colors are brilliant, and has an instant on/off feature which lowers the power consumption and decreases electrical costs.

If you want a projector that has a superior picture, then the DLP is the recommended choice. Unlike projectors that use lamps, the DLP has a digital image which is much more accurate and brilliant. It does not suffer from a degradation in color causing the picture to fade as the projector gets older.

“Replacement Mitsubishi Lamp Parts are Available to Save Money”

*DLP machines are 3D ready.
*They can project an image from 70 inches away from the screen
*Projection is in High Definition of 1080p
*Wide screen options are available
*More brilliant colors from processing 6 colors instead of only 3 colors with traditional projectors
Projectors and be used in nearly every application for video presentations. In schools, business, churches, home theaters, and other agencies, this technology offers perfect applications. The low cost in operating and maintenance make it very affordable for businesses that have lower budgets. DLP projectors are in the market at growing in numbers quickly. They are the way of the future with energy savings and lower costs.

If you have a Mitsubishi Television and you have blown lamp it is important that you replace your Mitsubishi Lamp properly. There are a number of after market lamps that can be purchased on auction sites and discount websites for reduced rates. This being said if you are planning on buying an after market lamp you must know the exact model and model number before you purchase. You can find this out by removing the assembly and taking out your old bulb. The model number will be written on the housing and sometimes still visible on the bulb itself depending on the year and model of your television.

A very important tip to remember if you are planning to replace the Mitsubishi Lamp yourself, is that you must wear gloves when installing it. It is also important that you try not to touch the bulb itself as this can shorten if not damage the duration of the life of the bulb. Another trick is to blow away any excess dust from the filters after you have removed the old bulb. This also will help to aid in the length of the life of the lamp. If you are not technically inclined you can hire a repair man to do this job for you. If you want to save money you can order the Mitsubishi Lamp yourself and then have them install it. It is not something that is very complicated to do, in most cases all you will need is a flat head screwdriver. This and whatever type of screwdriver that is needed to remove the cover itself. If you are looking for the best deals then it is a must that you purchase these bulbs online. Your local retailer or tv repair man will charge you an arm and a leg for a replacement bulb. This is to cover their overhead costs, you can skip this by purchasing it yourself online.
